Length for swimming

The owners of Hillside Retreat wanted more than a standard shell. Their brief combined a clear swimming length with a shallow tiled area for relaxing beside the water. A 12 metre fibreglass pool was modified with a 150mm rebate along one side, allowing a 4 × 1.2m concrete sun pod to meet it at the planned level.

A place to pause

That connection had to be designed before the shell was ordered. The fibreglass and concrete needed a coordinated, watertight junction, while the glass-tiled pod and its four up jets were detailed as part of the overall build. This is a specific completed solution, not a feature that can be assumed compatible with every shell or added later without design work.

Life around the water

The pool sits in view of the main living areas, with bushland beyond the fence. A hidden blanket, mineral treatment and gas and solar heating were included in the installed specification. For another Lysterfield South property, begin with the outlook, intended use, levels and access, then select the pool form and equipment that suit that site.

Draw custom features before ordering

A sun pod, spa or other joined structure changes more than the appearance. Hillside Retreat's rebate, levels and concrete connection were planned up front. Confirm compatibility and engineering for any proposed combination before selecting a shell.

Check the exact property controls

Use a planning property report to identify the zones and overlays for the address. A bushland outlook does not establish which controls apply to a particular lot; check the mapped information before planning excavation, tree work or retaining structures.

Include Casey's asset protection step

Casey lists pool and spa construction among works requiring an asset protection permit. Confirm the applicable requirements before machinery or materials arrive, alongside the pool's building approval and safety barrier design.

Make ongoing care part of the layout

Leave accessible space for equipment and a practical cover system. Hillside Retreat includes a concealed blanket and mineral water treatment, but those choices still require regular maintenance. Match heating, cleaning and cover use to your household's routine.

Lysterfield South pool questions

Can I see a completed Lysterfield South pool?

Yes. Hillside Retreat is an Enchanted Pools project in Lysterfield South. The project card shows the actual modified fibreglass pool, concrete sun pod, bushland outlook and installed systems.

Can a fibreglass pool have a concrete sun pod?

Hillside Retreat combines the two through a purpose-planned shell rebate and a coordinated concrete connection. It is a design and engineering question for your selected shell and property, rather than an off-the-shelf addition to any pool.

Do you build fully concrete pools here too?

Yes. A fully custom concrete pool is another option where the shape, seating, depths or site requirements call for it. We can compare that approach with a fibreglass solution after reviewing your brief and property.

Which council should I check for Lysterfield South?

Lysterfield South is in the City of Casey. Use the exact address when checking planning information, pool approvals and registration. Nearby Lysterfield is a separate locality, so do not rely on a similar suburb name when looking up requirements.

What helps when planning a pool beside bushland?

Send photos of the outlook, trees, access and level changes. Discuss which views should remain open, how the cover will work and where equipment can be serviced. Property controls and the proposed construction need to be assessed before the design is finalised.
