Strength you can see
in the shell.

Ceramic Core is the thick structural layer inside every Compass fibreglass pool, combining vinyl ester resin with ceramic microspheres for greater stiffness, impact resistance and long-term protection from water and pool chemicals.

Proven through the structure.

Compass has manufactured fibreglass pools in Australia for more than 45 years. Ceramic Core is built into every current shell, with more than 60,000 Compass pools manufactured.

Inside the Ceramic Core.

The strength is not a coating or an optional insert. It comes from how water-resistant resin, ceramic microspheres and reinforced fibreglass are bonded through the shell structure.

Ceramic Core begins with vinyl ester resin, selected to give the structural layer stronger resistance to water and pool chemicals than a conventional polyester-resin core.

01 · Resin matrix

A vinyl ester resin matrix helps protect the structural core from water and pool chemicals.

How Ceramic Core becomes part of the pool.

The core is formed during shell manufacture, then bonded into the wider laminate. It cannot peel away as a separate aftermarket layer because it was never one.

  1. 1

    Blend the core ingredients

Vinyl ester resin is combined with hollow ceramic microspheres to form the structural Ceramic Core composite.

  2. 2

    Apply the structural layer

Compass uses modified spray equipment to distribute the Ceramic Core through the shell as a thick, continuous layer.

  3. 3

    Bond the complete shell

The core is integrated with the surrounding reinforced laminate and Bi-Luminite surface to create one complete pool structure.

The difference is inside the shell.

Ceramic Core strengthens the shell while retaining controlled flexibility. That combination is designed to help the pool cope with seasonal ground movement. Enchanted Pools still assesses access, drainage, soil and engineering requirements for the individual site before construction.
